A Tummy tuck, also known as
abdominoplasty, is the
removal of excess skin from
the tummy (abdomen) in an
attempt to make the stomach
look flatter and smoother.
Usually, pockets of excess
skin will occur after major
weight loss, procedures such
as liposuction, or
pregnancy. They can not only
make the body look
unattractive but also have
psychological effects on the
bearer.

good health, and is a very
common procedure amongst
plastic (cosmetic) surgeons
all over the world. Not only
can excess skin be removed,
the surgeons are also able
to tighten the abdominal
muscles which gives the abs
that flatter, stronger, and
more well defined look. The
tummy tuck surgery generally
last a few hours, and a
partial tummy tuck (partial
abdominoplasty) takes a bit
less. Recovery from this
surgery usually takes a few
weeks.
