Stretch Marks Removal
	For so many women, stretch marks are an unavoidable and unpleasant side effect of pregnancy. They can also affect bodybuilders, as well as anyone else who has gained or lost a significant amount of weight in a short period of time. Stretch marks represent a permanent change in the dermis (the deeper layer of skin beneath the surface layer known as the epidermis), there is no amount of resurfacing that can erase them. Cosmetic lasers are a new method for removal of stretch marks. Lasers are used to stimulate new collagen growth. We use Pixel Er-Yag (2940) laser to treat stretch marks. The laser energy is absorbed in the dermal layer of the skin stimulating the production of new collagen. The new collagen thickens and plumps the skin. In addition it causes skin tightening.

Where there is excessive skin laxity simultaneously additionally AFT ST (third generation IPL) is used for skin tightening. This makes remaining stretch marks less noticeable. Occasionally for very wide scars Er-Yag 2940 laser is used to create raw areas which are allowed to heal by secondary intention resulting in narrowing of the stretch marks. Usual level of satisfaction is with 50% to 90% remission. Average 4 to 8 sittings are required for satisfactory result.
